My Little Book of Happiness explores understanding what it is to be happy and supports a positive mindset and gratitude.
What is My Little Book of Happiness?
My Little Book of Happiness provides opportunities for you and your child to talk about what makes us happy and learn techniques to help them develop resilience during challenges. It's full of thought provoking activities based around happiness and explains, in child friendly terms, that happiness isn't a destination to be achieved, but rather an overall state, with other emotions coming and going.
Happiness, Contentment, Gratitude, Resilience.
How will this book help my child?
This book has been designed to help your child explore what happiness means to them. We know that your child's happiness is your priority and how influential you are as their parent, so 'My Little Book of Happiness' will initiate conversations between you and your child that empower you to emotion coach them, nurturing their emotional intelligence and wellbeing.
Although the book can be used by children independently, it will support the connection between you and your child when worked through together.

Positive Thinking Activities
The book begins with activities to develop an understanding of happiness, ways to create a happier mindset and space to express happiness. Motivating quotes are dotted though the book to help spark conversations about what happiness is.
The second half of the book contains the "Happy Days" section, where there are 2 months worth of space for daily gratitude entries. Gratitude has been proven to help the brain develop a positive mindset and is a fantastic habit for children to develop early in life. Each entry asks your child to list 3 'Happy Things". These could be good things that happened or things they feel grateful for. It then asks them to write or draw about their favourite moment of the day and encourages them to use an NLP technique called anchoring as they think about this moment. Then, because we believe it's important for children to develop self awareness, they're asked WHY they think this made them happy.
Weekly Happy Thoughts Activity
After each week of gratitude journaling, the book features a Happy Thoughts Activity to encourage your child to think a little deeper about their happiness.
What age range does this book suit?
It's ideal for children between 8 and 16 years.
My Little Book of Happiness is for general use and guidance only. It does not in anyway replace the advice and help of a medical professional or therapist. Please, always see your medical provider if you have concerns about your child's mental health.
