Positive Thinking Activities
The book begins with activities to develop an understanding of happiness, ways to create a happier mindset and space to express happiness. Motivating quotes are dotted though the book to help spark conversations about what happiness is.
Gratitude Journal
The second half of the book contains the "Happy Days" section, where there are 2 months worth of space for daily gratitude entries. Gratitude has been proven to help the brain develop a positive mindset and is a fantastic habit for children to develop early in life. Each entry asks your child to list 3 'Happy Things". These could be good things that happened or things they feel grateful for. It then asks them to write or draw about their favourite moment of the day and encourages them to use an NLP technique called anchoring as they think about this moment. Then, because we believe it's important for children to develop self awareness, they're asked WHY they think this made them happy.
Weekly Happy Thoughts Activity
After each week of gratitude journaling, the book features a Happy Thoughts Activity to encourage your child to think a little deeper about their happiness.
What age range does this book suit?
It's ideal for children between 8 and 16 years.
